Our Story
Real estate decisions have always relied on strong fundamentals: market data, financial performance, physical condition, leasing activity, appraisals. What’s harder to capture at scale is the voice inside the building itself. Every resident, tenant, and occupier experiences a space differently, and those individual perspectives, gathered consistently and structured properly, add up to something powerful: a collective voice that reflects how a building is actually performing for the people in it.
We call this occupant intelligence.
And it’s why simplydbs was founded. To build a platform that captures that collective voice reliably, at scale, so it could take its place in how the industry makes decisions.
Sarah Segal
Co-Founder & CEO
Sarah is a commercial real estate entrepreneur with over two decades of experience in market intelligence, global transactions, brokerage, and data. She has advised on billions of dollars in CRE transactions and asset strategy across Canada, the US, and the Caribbean, and co-founded CBRE Hotels Canada. Her career spans senior roles at CBRE, Altus Group (RealNet), and Informa, where she repeatedly built and scaled new business initiatives that connect market intelligence with execution. Sarah is a frequent industry speaker, contributing insights through columns, podcasts, and conferences. Sarah is fluent in English and French.
Katherine Radziszewski
Co-Founder & COO
Katherine leads strategy, operations, and market positioning at simplydbs, translating vision into execution across platform development, go to market, and data infrastructure. With more than 15 years working alongside institutional real estate stakeholders, she plays a key role in positioning simplydbs as a trusted source for investment, portfolio, and asset-level decision making. Prior to simplydbs, Katherine held senior leadership roles at Informa, managing a large real estate conference portfolio and leading digital and operational transformations. Her approach is pragmatic and execution-focused, grounded in trust, discipline, and results. Katherine is bilingual in English and Polish.
Tomoko Valiquette
Lead Analyst, Research & Insights
Tomoko is a data analytics and research professional with over a decade of experience designing surveys, analyzing complex datasets, and translating insights into clear, actionable reports. She specializes in survey development, data integrity, and storytelling with data. At simplydbs, she leads the automation and production of client reports and designs strategic surveys that balance compliance, reliability, and respondent experience. Her background includes managing large-scale research programs and building Power BI and Excel reporting infrastructure across industries, including real estate. Tomoko is bilingual in English and Japanese.
